Harapan, the Sumatran Rhino: His Journey and New Life in Sumatra

Sumatran rhino, only 100 left in the world (thanks to poaching). This story is about a male, Harapan transported from Cincinnati Zoo to a Sumatran rhino sanctuary to hopefully, successfully participate in a breeding programme to help save the species.

The following videos tell the much anticipated tale of Harapan’s 3-day journey from the Cincinnati Zoo to the Sumatran Rhino Sanctuary in southern Sumatra. Check these out to find out more about how Harapan fared during his travel and how he’s acclimating to his new life in Sumatra.
